These two musicians have both grown over the past two decades - each in his own way - into the category of the most important musicians of the European scene, as documented by a multitude of LPs, CDs and radio productions, as well as concert tours on all continents.

Ruby is active as a solo pianist, with his trio Village Zone, and as the director of the Village Zone Orchestra, BJJO (Berlin Youth Jazz Orchestra) and of the Blue Art Orchestra, winner of the German Orchestra Competition 1997. He is co-founder of the now legendary Stadtgarten-Project in Cologne. Additionally, he holds the position of professor for Jazz and Improvised Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Saarbrücken.

Stefan Bauer, a native of the Ruhr Valley area in Germany now lives in New York after having spent more than a decade in Canada. As a co-founder of Christoph Haberer’s Drümmele Maa, and with his own project Lingo, he has had the opportunity to travel throughout the world, which is reflected in his compositions and CDs. He stands among the best vibraphonists of his generation.

The appealing sound of their instruments provides the ideal basis for Bauer's and Ruby’s original compositions, and for their involved musical dialogues. They let themselves be guided by the inspiration they receive from the percussive and tonal possibilities of their instruments, and thereby move within a wide dynamic range between Jazz, New Music, grooves and free tonal structures. Die beiden Musiker sind jeder auf seine Weise in den letzten Jahren und Jahrzehnten in die Kategorie der wichtigsten Musiker der europäischen Jazzszene hineingewachsen, dokumentiert durch eine Vielzahl von LP's, CD's und Rundfunkproduktionen und Tourneen auf allen Kontinenten.

Ruby ist erfolgreich aktiv als Solopianist, mit seinem Trio Village Zone und als Leiter des Village Zone Orchestra, BJJO (Berliner Jugend Jazz Orchester) und des Blue Art Orchestra, mit dem er 1997 den Deutschen Orchesterwettbewerb gewonnen hat. Er ist Mitbegründer des mittlerweile legendären Stadtgarten-Projekts in Köln; daneben ist er als Professor für Jazz und Improvisierte Musik an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Saarbrücken tätig.

Stefan Bauer, aus dem Ruhrgebiet, nach vielen Jahren in Kanada mittlerweile in NY ansässig, hat als Mitbegründer von Christoph Haberers Drümmele Maa und mit seinem Projekt Lingo Reisen in eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Länder machen können, reflektiert in seinen Kompositionen und CD's. Er gehört zu den besten Vibraphonisten seiner Generation.

Der reizvolle Klang ihrer Instrumente bildet die ideale Basis fuer die Eigenkompositionen und die intensiven musikalischen Zwiegespräche von Bauer und Ruby. Sie lassen sich von den perkussiven und klanglichen Möglichkeiten ihrer Instrumente inspirieren und bewegen sich dabei in einem weiten, dynamischen Feld zwischen Jazz, Neuer Musik, Grooves und freien Klanggeweben.

Ces dernières années et décennies, les deux musiciens sont entrés, chacun à leur manière, dans la catégorie des musiciens les plus importants de la scène jazz européenne. La preuve en est donnée par la multitude de singles, CD et diffusions radiophoniques à leur actif, ainsi que par leurs inombrables tournées.

Georg Ruby se produit avec succès en tant que pianiste solo avec son trio « Village Zone » et en tant que leader du « Village Zone Orchestra », du BJJO (Orchestre de Jazz de la Jeunesse Berlinoise), et du « Blue Art Orchestra », avec lequel il a remporté le concours allemand de musique orchestrale en 1997. Il est co-fondateur du légendaire projet « Stadtgarten » (Le jardin dans la ville) à Cologne.

Stefan Bauer est originaire de la Ruhr, mais après de nombreuses années passées au Canada, il est actuellement domicilié à New York. En tant que co-fondateur du groupe de percussions « Drümmele Maa » et avec son projet « Lingo », il a eu l’opportunité de voyager dans une multitude de pays différents. Ces expériences se reflètent dans ses compositions et ses albums, et en font l’un des meilleurs vibraphonistes de sa génération.

Les timbres séduisants de leurs instruments respectifs, combinés ensemble, permettent à Bauer et Ruby de laisser libre cours à leurs compositions personnelles et à leurs dialogues musicaux intenses. Ils se laissent inspirer par les possibilités rythmiques et mélodiques de leurs instruments et se meuvent ainsi dans un univers vaste et dynamique entre jazz, Nouvelle Musique, groove et libres textures sonores.
