Vibes/Piano – Stefan Bauer/Vadim Neselovskyi
An exciting duo is going to be heard around New York and on a number of concert dates in Germany in September: vibraphonist StefanBauer and pianist Vadim Neselovskyi. Both are not only virtuosos on their instruments but inquisitive conceptualists and composers as well. That puts an extra touch to this musical affair: unusual instruments meet unusual music, performed by unusual musicians. This is being compounded by the fact that pianist Vadim has been playing with and writing for vibraphone legend Gary Burton for a number of years, who himself has set standards playing duo with Chick Corea. However, the appeal of Bauer/Neselovskyi’s duo lies in the fact that they are avoiding the obvious (such as sounding like the above mentioned). In search for an individual sound they draw on their European roots, world grooves and the magic of good communication.
